In 2018 PARA CAYA was conceptualized. My mother & I had been handmaking purses as a way to spend time together and create special pieces for ourselves. After receiving feedback from friends and family, we created a product using up-cycled, naturally dyed Amazonian fish leather and created a brand identity rooted in our Peruvian heritage and our love for the Earth. We collaborated with female and indigenous artists in Peru to bring our vision to life and produce small batches of product. Here are some highlights from the past year including some of my work as Creative Director.
